Kindergarten Readiness Evaluation

Kindergarten Readiness Evaluation: This evaluation is for parents who have a child that has not yet turned 5, and who are on the fence about sending their child to Kindergarten or waiting one more year. Information gathered allows parents to gage their child’s cognitive ability to better predict how they might achieve academically once in school. Additionally, Motor Development, Language, and Self-Help Skills, as well as Social Development will be screened. Basic academic skill assessment will be included. This evaluation also can help identify the possibility of a Developmental Delay. This evaluation is for children ages 3 years old through the start of Kindergarten.

Areas assessed:

1. IQ and Cognitive -  will provide information regarding various cognitive strengths and weaknesses. This information is critical so that instruction can be presented in a way that best matches the individual's cognitive strengths, leading to better retention of information.

2. Kindergarten Readiness - will provide screening information about Motor, Language, Self-Help, and Social Development.

3. Social/Emotional/Behavior - will provide information regarding Internalizing Problems (Anxiety, Depression), Externalizing Problems (Hyperactivity, Aggression, Conduct Problems), and Behavior (Attention Problems, Withdrawal). Adaptive Behavior will also be assessed.
